A Thin Bright Line: Reaching Back and Looking Forward in the Literature of Lesbian and Queer Women

As part of the City of West Hollywood’s ongoing Lesbian Speakers Series and WeHo Reads Program, the West Hollywood Library will be hosting author Lucy Bledsoe at the West Hollywood Library Council Chambers for a panel event on Saturday, October 22, 2016 in conjunction with the release of Lucy’s upcoming book A Thin Bright Line.  The book, which is based on the true story of Lucy’s aunt and namesake “Lucybelle Bledsoe” and on the search to uncover her remarkable past, encompasses Cold War intrigues, the origins of climate research, the joyful pangs of love, and the impossible compromises of queer life in the 1950s and 60s.
